We offer asynchronous online courses for credit and grades. An asynchronous course is a course without a set start date, where students start at different times and work at their own pace.
In addition to the basic computer, for some courses you may need PowerPoint, Adobe Reader, Microsoft Office, a media player.
Forest Trail Academy offers open enrollment. You may enroll at anytime. Our courses start the day you register.
A course length can range from 45 days to 12 months. You will have find your start and end dates listed on your dashboard when you enroll.
You may enroll from half (.5) credit to six (6) credits. A full load is classified as six (6) credit courses. If you need additional courses, you will have to get approval from our Academic Advisors.

Yes. Our instructional modality is self paced, asynchronous, and flexible. Students with learning disabilities often succeed in this type of learning environment.
Upon enrollment, your username and password will be automatically e-mailed to the email address you provided when you register. Upon request, a staff member will contact you to review the e-Learning platform and answer any questions you may have before you begin your coursework.
Your materials are mailed within 10-15 days of enrollment via UPS. If you have not received your curriculum within the 15th day of your enrollment, please contact us immediately.
If you are enrolled in the Correspondence/Book Program, your books are included in your tuition. If you are enrolled in the online program, all of the materials for your classes are provided online. Any additional textbooks may be purchased separately as supplements.
There are four (4) types of assessments in the system: assignments, essays, worksheets, and tests/quizzes. In the assignment and essays, you will upload your completed work inside the class. In the worksheets, you will type your answer directly. In tests/quizzes, you will select the correct multiple choice or true or false answer.
Teachers are required to respond to messages with 48 hours and provide feedback within 72 hours of receiving your assignment. If you do not receive feedback in the required time frame, please contact your teacher within the system. If you do not receive a response within 48 hours, please submit a message to Student Services via the Message Center, contact the office at 561.537.5501 or registrar@foresttrailacademy.com
You should submit no more than one assignment at a time per course. Before submitting multiple assignments, you should contact your teacher and seek permission. You will be better prepared for each assignment if you take advantage of your teacher’s evaluation of one assignment before submitting the next.
If you are enrolled in the online program, you will be able to view your exams immediately if they are multiple choice questions. If the exam has essay questions, you will be required to wait up to 72 hours for your teacher to grade. In the correspondence/book program, all exams are included in the curriculum. The person/home teacher responsible for your academic learning will notify you of your results.
Forest Trail Academy uses a numerical grading system. Numerical grades may be considered equivalent to letter grades as follows: 90 – 100 A 80 – 89 B 70 – 79 C 60 – 69 D 59 and below F When students successfully complete a course, the grade and or the number of credits earned are recorded on your transcript.
No. Teachers do not submit final grades. All grades are automatically displayed on your dashboard within the system. As Per our policy, students must complete ALL assessments (assignments, worksheets, quizzes, tests, essays, projects, etc.,) in all courses in order to attain grades and or credits from Forest Trail Academy.

Forest Trail Academy a self-paced program. If you need to finish a class by a set date, we recommend that you set a schedule that is conducive to your goal.
Courses are recorded on a Forest Trail Academy Transcript. Upon successful completion of your coursework, you may fill out a Transcript Request Form.
Transcript are processed 3-5 days upon receipt of the Transcript Request Form.
If you have extenuating circumstances that would keep you from completing your course by the expiration date, you may request an extension of up to three months for an additional fee.
