Forest Trail Academy offers fully accredited online high school programs for students in grades 9 to 12. Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to meet the needs and capabilities of every high school student, providing them with a path to success. With flexible online classes accessible from anywhere with an internet connection, our students receive interactive, self-paced, and personalized education with one-to-one support.

GRADE 9

The Grade 9 course curriculum is designed to enhance essential skills in core subjects. After enrolling in the 9th-grade high school course curriculum, students are exposed to new ways of online learning. The 9th grade online school program introduces new topics while reinforcing knowledge gained in middle school grades. This serves as the best start for high school education. Grade 9 classes include English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, along with languages and high school elective courses.

The chart below can be used by 9th-grade students and parents with their academic advisor as a starting point in planning the courses necessary for a 24-credit college preparatory diploma at Forest Trail Academy:

  • English I
  • Mathematics: Algebra 1 or Geometry or Algebra 2
  • Science: Earth & Space Science or Physical Science
  • Social Studies: World History
  • PE/Health: Personal Fitness/Health I
  • Foreign Language: Spanish I or II or French I or II

Grade 10

The Grade 10 course curriculum is designed to engage students in the learning process and help them meet their academic goals. Students enrolled in the 10th-grade course curriculum are exposed to lessons, homework, discussions, and tests, which are monitored by our education faculty and teachers. Using the online 10th-grade program, students are introduced to interdisciplinary learning. Grade 10 students learn core subjects, including English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, along with a wide range of high school electives. In addition to Grade 10 classes, students can take Advanced Placement Courses and Dual Enrollment Courses to earn college credits while in 10th grade.

Grade 11

The Grade 11 course curriculum is designed for high school juniors to take classes online in a flexible environment taught by certified teachers. In the Grade 11 high school program, students are exposed to advanced math, science, social studies, and language arts. Grade 11 students have the opportunity to earn college credits by enrolling in Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement Courses.

Grade 12

The Grade 12 course curriculum is designed for high school seniors to complete final high school course requirements. In the 12th-grade course curriculum, students are introduced to advanced topics in core subjects, laying a strong foundation for college education. For Grade 12 accelerated learners looking for challenges, Advanced Placement courses and Dual Enrollment courses offer rigorous opportunities to earn college credits and prepare for college and career.

  • Mathematics: Trigonometry or Pre-Calculus or Calculus
  • Science: Physics or any science elective
  • Social Studies: World Cultural Geography or any social studies elective

This Program is an easy-to-use, self-paced learning system designed to help students achieve proficiency in Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies. It comprises several web-based lessons that span 6 skill levels and includes curriculum that is aligned to state standards. In keeping with the standards set by the No Child Left Behind Act, this system combines technology with state academic standards to improve student achievement by providing both remediation and instruction.
