For Reading, students are taught a variety of new genres and are introduced to more sophisticate vocabulary. Writing now forms part of students’ daily activities and students are taught different types of punctuation to create sentences.

In Science, students learn about the different scientific processes as well as topics search as motion of objects, electricity and circuits. In History, a great deal of time is devoted to teaching students about their state of residence and may even include field trips. Most schools also include health, music, art and physical education as part of the fourth grade curriculum.
