Grade 11 Pre-Calculus Course Outline (1.0 Credit)
Course Overview
This high school Pre-Calculus course reviews and extends key concepts from trigonometr and higher algebra while introducing analytic geometry. Students will develop a foundational understanding of basic calculus concepts, including limits, derivatives, continuity, and integrals.
Course Preparation & Progression
The course is designed for capable students who have successfully completed Algebra II. Students who complete this course with a grade of “C” or higher will be academically prepared to move on to Calculus.
Course Description
This Pre-Calculus course provides students with advanced mathematical preparation through the review and extension of trigonometry and higher algebra concepts. Analytic geometry is introduced, and students begin developing an understanding of introductory calculus concepts such as limits, derivatives, continuity, and integrals.
This course serves as an important bridge between Algebra II and Calculus.
